November 2025 Hobonichi

Here’s my round-up of November “most-days daily drawings”! Including a healthy dose of undead creatures, quite a few quotes, and green onions – because sometimes when you don’t know what to draw a food item you love is the easiest thing. Oh, and some eagles and their nest, a page I thought was going pretty well until my yellow pen exploded 🙂‍↕️

A gouache painted portrait of Frankenstein’s Creature from the new Guillermo del Toro movie. The portrait is of the final scene, where the Creature looks into the sunset and smiles. Writing says “Feeling inspired after watching ‘Frankenstein (2025) by Guillermo del Toro”
A hand lettered quote in black ink on sepia ink. The quote is from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein: “I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other.”
A gouache painted of a red poppy on a green background – this page is dated November 11th, Remembrance Day. Part of a poem is layered over the poppy. It’s the final four lines of "Dulce et Decorum Est” by poet Wilfred Owen: “ My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori.” The title of the poem is latin for “it is sweet and fitting to die for one’s country”

This page has part of a rec centre paper wrist band glued onto the page, with a colourful felt pen background. The wrist band has a pattern of coloured neon geckos on a pink-purple background. Text says: “went to the gym for the first time in years!”
This page has a grey-blue ink background with squiggly lines. Two quotes are written on top, both from Cas Holman’s virtual Future Spaces talk. They read: “For adults in particular, just playing is kind of like misbehaving” and “It’s like an act of rebellion to say: I’m just going to dilly-dally.”
