Brush Pen Portraits (round 2)
A while ago, inspired by Lynda Barry, I bought a brush pen. To get familiar with it I drew portraits based on pictures found on Pinterest. Mark-making with this pen is so satisfying and fun! Equally fun was layering some watercolour on top to finish these off.

A Grind of Red-winged Blackbirds
Meet Beautiful Day Records: a project idea born from the desire to create album art for recordings of nature. The idea came to me a few years ago while reading Learning by Heart by Corita Kent and Jan Steward, and I quickly began recording short clips of audio on my phone. Years later I finally created the first illustration to go with one of the recordings (better late than never!). To tie the series together, I created a fictional record label: Beautiful Day Records.
I have many more ideas for this series, but as already shown it’s not on a fast track. More will come, in time.
The lovely font on this is BN Wispy, with some customization.
