A character portrait, one of the series I gave as Christmas gifts to friends in 2023.
This one was an experiment in lighting effects. It was a battle, and one I’m not sure I won.
Some of my favourite parts of this piece are the subtle textures, captured by using layers of sepia acrylic ink to establish values and then watercolours on top:

Mordecai the Bird
After buying this figurine several years ago, I finally got around to giving it a makeover this year. I think it was the second figurine I bought for this purpose, after Duo the Dragon, and I forgot to take a before photo of it 😦 For your imagination, picture it with an even baby pink glaze. Its new name, Mordecai, was chosen from the pool of names my friends suggested on an Instagram poll.
Mordecai was painted with acrylics, accented with nail polish, and finished with a glossy acrylic sealer.

Elkeari
My Circle of the Moon Druid I played on-and-off for 7 years (!!) all the way up to level 20! She is now officially retired, living a quiet life with her small family, growing hybrid plants, and becoming a cryptid, as one does.
