Mordecai the Bird
After buying this figurine several years ago, I finally got around to giving it a makeover this year. I think it was the second figurine I bought for this purpose, after Duo the Dragon, and I forgot to take a before photo of it 😦 For your imagination, picture it with an even baby pink glaze. Its new name, Mordecai, was chosen from the pool of names my friends suggested on an Instagram poll.
Mordecai was painted with acrylics, accented with nail polish, and finished with a glossy acrylic sealer.

Elkeari
My Circle of the Moon Druid I played on-and-off for 7 years (!!) all the way up to level 20! She is now officially retired, living a quiet life with her small family, growing hybrid plants, and becoming a cryptid, as one does.

Not technically a thrift store catch and release, as I found this in my grandma’s storage unit, but I still count it. I don’t have a before photo, but imagine it in a faded ochre. Giving it a fresh face (including lots of shiny gold paint!) was very satisfying.

2022 Inktober
Last year for inktober I followed two prompt lists: the classic Inktober one, and the Fauntober list by Miranda Zimmerman (Faunwood) on Insta. I let myself pick from two prompt options each day, or try combining both words into one drawing, which was a fun challenge. I didn’t complete everyday but got through most days, and that feels like something to be proud of!
